What This Site Is About

About This site, as described in my opening blog is a place to share ideas, ask questions and just talk if you want, about things going on in your life as it pertains to welding. Now as much as I love to hear about your beautiful “Tig” bead and that’s great, I would also like to hear about other interesting things. For instance, I once took a trip down south to pick up my first welder generator from an ad in the paper. On the way back, I had lost the tire from the trailer as I was driving and had to spend the next to two hours welding various pieces of scrap steel together with my Oxy-fuel set up just to retrieve the wheel from the canal. Now fortunately, I was prepared but it could have turned out worse. This is the kind of stuff I’d like to read about and I encourage you to share it with us. Keep it clean of course, so no crazy profanity please. As you explore this site, check through all the topics and comments because you might just find something to help you with what you are going through. Almost every welder I know has a unique story of how and why they got where they are. I would like to hear about it.

Straight Electrical Polarity

Electrical Polarity Last time, we talked about reverse polarity. Hopefully, that is somewhat understood. Now the talk will be dealing with electrical straight polarity.   As we can see, the electrode is attached to the negative terminal on the power source and the work (metal to be welded) is attached to the positive terminal. ThisRead more
